| | | | | | | | | | This humidors owner started to strip the piece herself, but gave up after a while and sent it out to be professional stripped. | | | | The company who stripped the humidor did most of the sanding, but we finish-sanded following our recommended finishing sanding tips. | | | | Wipe the entire piece clean with mineral spirits and let dry. (Remove the doors if you can, otherwise leave in place.) | | | | Stir the contents of the Light Walnut Stain thoroughly before use. Apply just to the inside detail of the doors with a lint-free cloth. | | | | Move onto the next color and stir the contents of the Dark Walnut Stain thoroughly before use. Apply with a synthetic or natural-bristle brush or clean, lint-free cloth. (We used a cloth for this project because of the detail.) | | | | Be sure to apply the stain across the grain until the wood is saturated on top. Wipe the excess stain off in the direction of the wood grain. Dont let the stain dry before wiping excess. | | | | If you want the stain color to look darker, a second coat can be applied after two hours. Do not sand between stain coats. | |
