Hanging Borders
DIRECTIONS
Start by selecting a border that reflects your style. If you are hanging the border on a wall that has already been painted or wallpapered, bring a paint chip or wallpaper swatch for matching. Likewise, if you already have a border you like, bring it with you when you shop for paint.
Clean the surface and make sure the wall is free of any dirt, grease, wax, old wallpaper adhesive, mold and mildew and other contaminants. The border will best hang on a clean, dry surface.
If you are hanging a pre-pasted border on a painted or wallpapered surface, use SureGrip® Universal Border Adhesive. Use the roller applicator to apply SureGrip® to the back of the border. Then, fold the border back to itself – paste to paste – in 18” lengths, to create an “accordion fold”, until the entire length has been prepped and folded.
Hold the folded border in one hand and unfold it with the other, placing it in position on the wall.
After hanging the border, smooth it using the WalWiz® to remove air pockets. Use a sponge or towel and clean water to remove any excess adhesive.
