Problem: Pier One Imports purchased a large 65,000 square foot building to house their new e-Commerce Service Center. It was important that the building remodel took no more than 30 days so the opening deadline could be met. The existing floors in the building had many stains and rough patches and were in dire need of improvement. The onsite project manager was not sure how to best tackle this large project so he turned to his local MRO products distributor for answers.
Solution: The MRO distributor contacted their local Rust-Oleum representative. The representative immediately scheduled a walk-through of the facility and met with the project manager to better understand the budgetary concerns as well as the overall demands of the facility. Once the condition was assessed, it was recommended that a contractor shot blast the floors to prepare the surface for an epoxy coating. The coating that was specified was the Rust-Oleum 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic. The 9100 System is a versatile two-component epoxy coating that delivers a very strong, long-lasting, professional-grade surface. It resists abrasion, impact, and chemicals and is available in a wide range of colors. After the successful installation, the building was ready to be set up for the e-Commerce Team. The building opened on schedule and the project manager was pleased with the result of the new floor.
