Christopher Ranch, a garlic farm in the Santa Clara Valley of California, noticed extreme rusting on the steel columns, beams and purlins of their interior processing facility. At the farm, previously applied epoxy coating systems were not holding up under regular washings. As a result, the facility experienced aggressive rusting. A Rust-Oleum representative visited the ranch to inspect the processing facility and understand their needs.
To combat the aggressive rusting, Noxyde along with Industrial Choice 5200 System DTM Acrylic were selected as a trustworthy combination for the facility. Noxyde, a heavy duty, water based elastomeric acrylic, provides long term corrosion protection with an easy spray application. After two coats of Noxyde, the area was top coated with Industrial Choice 5200 System DTM Acrylic. The 5200 System is a low VOC, low odor coating. After almost one year, the facility has not had any problems with rusting and the coating system is adhering well and is easy to maintain.
