At the Rock County Fairgrounds in Janesville, Wisconsin, the pole barn interior ceiling was in horrible condition due to rust. The pole barn ceiling was in need of a coating that could withstand all environmental conditions and have a long service life. Being outdoors and in a changing weather environment was a main concern for the fairground personnel, along with the fact that there was residential housing nearby. In order to achieve complete satisfaction the application process could not interfere with the lives of residents. Keeping this in mind, a Rust-Oleum representative inspected the site and recommended Noxyde Elastomeric Acrylic Coating to be used on the ceiling.
To achieve maximum efficiency and turnaround time, it was decided that power washing the surface instead of sand blasting would be the most appropriate initial step. Noxyde, a Mathys brand product, has a longstanding track record of fighting severe corrosion in aggressive environments. By applying two coats of Noxyde and one coat of the 3700 System DTM Acrylic Enamel, the fairgrounds received a 10-year corrosion and peeling warranty. When the application was finished, the pole barn ceiling was transformed into the rust-free metal it once was. The Rust-Oleum coatings had restored the ceiling into its original condition and there were no signs of rust or corrosion. This roof will house many great fairs for years to come.
