Don't pay extra money for a decorative piggy bank! We made this standard piggy bank fabulous with a few easy coats of Glitter spray paint.

PREPARE: Always work in a well ventilated area and cover nearby items with drop cloths to protect them from overspray. Wipe down the outside of the piggy bank using a lint free cloth.
PAINT: Hold your can of Glitter spray paint 10-12” from the piggy bank and begin spraying the surface in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply 3 or more light coats at a moderate speed. For best results, apply multiple light coats instead of one heavy coat. Let the glitter dry for about 20 minutes, then topcoat the piggy bank with Glitter Clear Sealer. For best results, apply 2 or more light coats.
FINISH: Let the piggy bank dry for at least 1 hour before using.

Now it's time to put that sparkly piggy bank to work and get to saving! To use up that extra glitter spray paint, try this other fun Glittery Letters project. These letters will look perfect in your kid's bedroom right next to their new piggy bank.
