What supplies do I need for this project?

Some supplies you may need are painters tape, paint brush, roller frame, roller pole, roller sleeve, paint tray, gloves, drop cloth and stir sticks. Please note the Base Coat requires a 3/8” nap roller sleeve and the Top Coat requires a ¼” nap roller sleeve.

If I wanted to apply a decorative, stencil look to my floor, what products should I use?

We recommend applying your first color of Rust-Oleum HOME Base Coat and then using a second color of Rust-Oleum HOME Base Coat for the stencil coat.  Wait 6 hours before applying the stencil coat.  Wait 1-2 hours after stencil coat before applying the Top Coat.

Can I apply a second coat of Rust-Oleum HOME Base Coat if so desired?

Only one coat is required (except for the color White, it needs 2 coats).  If a second coat is desired for your project, after applying the entire floor with the first coat, wait 6 hours before applying the second coat.

After you have applied the first coat, if you see areas you may have missed or that need more paint, such as the grout lines, those areas can be touched up with the Base Coat before applying the Top Coat. Again, just wait 6 hours to apply the touch ups, then in 1-2 hours you can apply the Top Coat.

Can I apply a second coat of Rust-Oleum HOME Top Coat if so desired?

Only one coat is required, but if a second coat is desired for additional durability or uniformity, wait until the first coat is dry to the touch (1-2 hours) before applying the second coat.  Must apply the second coat within 24 hours.
