What necessary items are needed to complete a truck bed?

Truck Bed coating project needs are dependent on application preference. At the very least, you will need 2” low-tack masking tape, masking paper or plastic sheet, clean-up rags and mineral spirits.

If you decide to spray the gallon or quart product, Rust-Oleum recommends using a sprayer. Other than the sprayer, you will not need anything else for application.

To make rolling or brushing your truck bed coating easier, Rust-Oleum recommends purchasing one of our kits either the Truck Bed Applicator Kit for the Truck Bed Gallon or Quart product or the all-in-one Professional Grade Truck Bed Kit.

If you are unable to purchase a kit for brush or roll application, you will need the following items:

    •     Roller cover and frame

    •     Stir stick

    •     Paint brush

    •     Medium grit sanding sponge

    •     Roller pan

    •     Solvent resistant gloves

Can I paint truck bed coatings?

Truck bed coatings can be painted. Try to apply the paint within 24 hours of the truck bed coating becoming dry to the touch. If you’ve waited longer than 24 hours to paint the truck bed, remember to clean the surface before applying the paint.

Do not mix any paint colors into the truck bed coating before applying it.
