Engineering co-op Program

ENGINEERING CO-OP PROGRAM

Gain hands-on engineering experience

As a Co-op Engineer at Rust-Oleum, every day is a little different. You’ll be in our manufacturing plants working hands-on to conceptualize, design, build and upgrade machinery working as an entry-level engineer at Rust-Oleum.

The program is offered to college sophomores and juniors who are pursuing a degree in engineering. As a participant, you will have opportunities to apply your education to drive improvements on the production lines, paint-making equipment, processing systems, and/or perform capacity analysis and time studies.

Every day you will work alongside a cross-functional team that’s willing to help you learn and contribute as we take on plant and corporate challenges that impact our company’s bottom line. Many years after you finish this program, your work and legacy will remain.

As a Rust-Oleum Co-op Engineer, you can expect:

•   To determine whether you want to become an Operations Engineer. You’ll be tasked with real company projects that will help you understand the role and responsibilities of working in manufacturing. From incorporating new machines to maximizing efficiencies into our process, you’ll impact bottom-line company results.
•   To meet new people every day. A big part of your job is curiosity and asking questions along the way to assure our project plans continue moving forward.
•   Safety to be our number one priority. You’ll learn our manufacturing standards and make sure that everyone leaves as safely as they arrived.
•   A team you can rely on. We understand you’re still learning how to be an engineer, and we’re there to help you develop and apply your skills.

The program includes three sessions – generally, in the summer, winter and spring – for a total of 6 months of job experience. We offer a competitive salary with increases for each successive work session, as well as fully furnished housing.
