Prepare: Remove any existing finishes with sandpaper or liquid stripper. Prepare bare wood for staining by sanding in the direction of the wood grain. Begin with #120 grit sandpaper and progress to #220 grits. Wipe off sand­ing dust with a lint-free cloth before staining. 

Stain: Stir or shake material thoroughly before and occasionally during use. Apply a sample of stain on an inconspicuous area to test. Apply one coat of stain liberally (Varathane Briarsmoke was used) with a brush or clean, lint-free cloth. Allow to penetrate for 5-10 minutes then remove excess by wiping with another clean cloth in the direction of the grain.

Dry Brush: Allow stain to dry to the touch for approximately 1 hour. Next “dry brush” on Chalked Paint (Serenity Blue was used). To dry brush, put a small amount of Chalked paint on the end of the bristles and lightly brush across making sure to not give complete coverage. 

Spray Paint Letters: The letters “e” “a” “t” were cut by craftcuts.com. Shake your can of Ultra Cover 2X Gloss spray paint (Flat Black was used). Hold the can upright 10-16” from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart to avoid drips. Let the paint dry for about 1 hour.  

Assemble: Faux brick peel and stick wallpaper was attached to a frame. The breadboard was then attached to the frame using Velcro strips.
