This project was shared by Dogs Don’t Eat Pizza blogger Karen Cooper in Rust-Oleum’s Creator’s Studio. Karen made these adorable crates to organize her Hanukkah gifts.
To make these crates, Karen first stained both crates with Varathane Premium Wood Stain — one in Antique White and one in Vintage Aqua. After letting the crates dry, she taped off a square on the front of each crate and used Rust-Oleum Chalk Board Brush-On paint to add a chalkboard surface. Once the chalkboard paint was dry, she traced around the chalkboard paint with a gold permanent marker for a shimmering touch. (Use Testors Metallic Leafing Pen to obtain a similar look.) Then, she added the gifts and enjoyed her mess-free table! For more details on how she created these crates, check out Karen’s entire Hanukkah Gift Organizer project on her blog.
