Some pallet wood and a few supplies are all it takes to create a one-of-a-kind, rustic holiday decoration for your home. Add wood ornaments and a twig star to complete the look of your wood pallet Christmas tree.
Disassemble pallet and cut planks in different sizes. These will become the tree branches.
Sand the cut pallet wood pieces until smooth.
Lightly stain a cut two-by-four trunk and stand, follow the directions on the Varathane Fast Dry Wood Stain can for best results.
Use a brush to apply a light, thin coat of Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Paint to each pallet board, following the directions on the can. Let the paint dry for approximately 30 minutes.
Lightly apply Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint (we used Satin Eden) over every other white pallet board. Use a brush to give it a distressed look and a light spray to add more color. Follow the directions on the can for best results.
Let all paint dry for at least 1 hour.
Screw or nail branches onto stained trunk and stand. Nail the pallet wood pieces to the tree trunk, placing the largest on the bottom and smallest on the top to form a tree shape.
