Rust-Oleum Ultimate Wood Stain and Universal Metallic spray paint in Titanium Silver put the finishing touches on this tool clock made from used and free items. A true trash-to-treasure piece, this clock would make a great gift. 

Step 1: Cut the edges of the drawer flush with the sides and remove the slide hardware.

Step 2: Spray paint the drawer in 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint according to the directions on the can. Let spray paint dry for about 1 hour. The bottom of the drawer will be the front of the clock, which makes room for the clock mechanism on the underside.


Step 3: Remove cork from wood trivet, then sand and stain the wood with Rust-Oleum Wood Stain, according to the directions on the can. Let the stain dry for approximately 1 hour.



Step 4: Drill a hole in the center of the wood trivet and bottom of the drawer.



Step 5: Find a clock face graphic on the internet, enlarge, use this to chalk the major lines of the clock face onto the stained wood.



Step 6: Spray paint the macramé ring and plastic pipe straps with Universal Metallic in Titanium Silver.

Step 7: Glue the wood trivet piece to the painted bottom part of the drawer.


Step 8: Glue the macramé ring into place around the trivet.


Step 9: Glue the small wrenches at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock.



Step 10: Glue the longer bits at 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, and 11 o'clock.


Step 11: Glue the shorter bits all around the inside of the metal ring.


Step 12: Glue the circular saw blade to the center.



Step 13: Assemble the clock parts.



Step 14: Add eye hooks to the top.



Step 15: Secure the chain to the large wrench with pipe straps.



Step 16: Connect the chain to the eye hooks and hang on the wall.
