Bistro Table Makeover

+
Blue bistro table and two chairs on a patio.

You've enjoyed many afternoons with your beloved bistro set, but it has seen better days. Give it a facelift! Spray paint is an easy way to give it a pop of color and a lasting finish, so you can continue to use your table for years to come.

  1. To begin, sand any loose paint or rust spots on the bistro set. This will help create the smoothest surface for the paint.
  2. Shake the can of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust spray paint for approximately one minute after you hear the mixing ball rattle. You want your paint to be thoroughly mixed.
  3. Next, hold the can 10-16" away from the surface, then begin spraying in light, even coats. Each additional coat should be applied within the hour or after 48 hours for best results.
  4. Let your last coat of spray paint dry for approximately 1 hour before handling. It's best to wait approximately 24 hours before you use it.

Tip: A few light coats of Stops Rust Clean Metal Primer or Rusty Metal Primer (for heavily rusted surfaces) are recommended before spray painting. Paint primer maximizes the rust protection on your outdoor metal project.
