Painted Entryway Table

+
A yellow table with vases on it against a beige wall. A mirror hangs over the table and a wicker basket and pair of rain boots are below it.

Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Spray Paint is an easy way to make old items look new again. Here's how we used it to add a bold pop of color to an antique entryway table.

PREPARE: Select a well-ventilated work space and use a drop cloth to protect your surroundings from overspray. Use sandpaper to remove any loose paint from the wooden table. Then, wipe the table down with a tack cloth to remove any dirt or dust. Remove any drawers from the table. If you don’t want to paint the hardware, remove that as well.

PRIME: Shake your can of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Universal Bonding Primer for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. Then, hold the can 10-16” away from the table and spray in a steady, sweeping motion. Apply two or more light coats of spray primer to the entire table and drawers, allowing a few minutes in between each coat.

PAINT: Next, shake your can of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel Spray Paint (we chose the color Gloss Tuscan Sun) for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. With the same technique you used with the primer, apply two or more light coats of spray paint to the table and drawers.

FINISH: Let the spray paint dry completely for 24 hours before replacing the drawers and hardware.
