After

A gloved hand applying Rust-Oleum Chalked Decorative Aged Glaze to a small wood table.

Before

If you like the look of vintage furniture, recreate it on a desk. Find a wood desk at a thrift store and apply Rust-Oleum Chalked Aged Glaze to give it an antique look.

PAINT: Coat your desk with Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Paint, following the directions on the can. Let the paint fully cure.

ADD ANTIQUED EFFECT: Stir the can of
Rust-Oleum Chalked Aged Glaze thoroughly and gently with a stir stick. Over a drop cloth, use a 2” synthetic brush or a 2” foam brush to coat the surface with the Chalked Aged Glaze. Be certain to apply it in all corners, crevices and raised panel sections.

Using cheesecloth, wipe the surface (using varying pressure) to remove the glaze until you’ve achieved the desired look. On wood surfaces, wipe off in the direction of the wood grain.

FINISH: Let dry a minimum of 8 hours before applying Rust-Oleum Matte Clear Protective Topcoat for added durability.

Other Materials:
