Jarcuterie Board

+

Serving jarcuterie? Arrange your charcuterie jars on a DIY wood serving tray customized with Varathane Classic Water Based Wood Stain and Universal spray paint.

  1. Lightly sand your wood round with #180- to 220-grit sandpaper, removing any sanding dust with a tack cloth. We recommend Gator Finishing sanding products.
  2. Apply Varathane Water-Based Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner to the wood round. This will prepare your wood for an even stain color.

  3. Gently stir your can of Varathane Water-Based Wood Stain with a stir stick.
  4. Apply the stain generously with a clean, lint-free cloth and let it sit for 2-3 minutes. For a richer penetration, leave on for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  5. For additional protection, thoroughly stir the can of Varathane Ultimate Polyurethane and apply to your stained wood round using a good quality synthetic bristle or foam brush.
  6. To add some pizazz to plain handles, follow the instructions on the back of the Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic Spray Paint can. The color used here is Sunlit Brass. Shake the can for one minute after the mixing ball releases. Hold the can 8-12” from the handles and apply light coats of spray paint, waiting a few minutes between each coat to ensure even coverage.
  7. Allow handles to dry and screw them into the wood round to create a beautiful jarcuterie board or serving tray. Not for direct food contact.

Tip: Not dishwasher safe. Your tray should only be washed by hand.
