Pink Aesthetic: Front Porch Decor

A vintage wooden sled painted with a pink ombre effect.

AFTER

Love the pink aesthetic? Incorporate a few pops of bright pink into your front porch to add some color during the coldest months of the year. For inspiration, see how Melanie at Southern Crush At Home gave a vintage sled an ombre finish with three shades of pink Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint.

  1. Make sure your sled is clean before you begin. Remove the wooden portion of the sled from the metal base. We recommend lightly sanding the wood surface for the best adhesion.
  2. Working in a well-ventilated area, shake your can of Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover in Gloss Candy Pink. Hold the can 10-16” from the surface of your sled as you apply your first layer of spray paint to the entire wooden sled. Spray the paint using a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply a second coat a few minutes later, if needed.
  3. To create the pink ombre effect, follow the same technique to add the color Gloss Berry Pink, which will be the middle color. Begin applying this color at the bottom of the sled and lessen the amount of paint as you work upward, stopping about halfway up the sled.
  4. Finally, use the same method to apply the darkest shade of pink, Satin Magenta, to the bottom one-third of the sled to complete the ombre look.
  5. Allow the pink spray paint to fully dry. If desired, add a stenciled design over the pink paint. After the paint has dried, reattach the sled’s metal base and display your new pink aesthetic front porch décor.
