Create festive silver and gold mantel décor with Rust-Oleum Glitter Spray Paint on wooden trees, Universal Metallic Spray Paint on beaded garland and Chalked Ultra Matte Spray Paint on wooden reindeer.
- To begin your DIY holiday décor project, find a well-ventilated workspace. Shake your can of Universal Metallic Spray Paint for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the can 8-12” from the trees and apply spray paint a steady, back-and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. (We used the colors Titanium Silver and Pure Gold.) Apply a few light coats of paint a few minutes apart.
- Once the paint has dried to the touch, it’s time to add some glitter! Shake your can of Rust-Oleum Glitter Spray Paint vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the can 12-14” from the metallic painted trees and apply the glitter spray paint. Apply additional Glitter coats as needed. Let dry.
- For additional protection, apply Rust-Oleum Glitter Sealer, following the directions on the can.
- To give wood garland beads a glittery look, follow the same steps.
- To give unfinished wooden reindeer a classic appearance, shake your can of Chalked Ultra Matte Paint for one after the mixing ball begins to rattle. (We used the color Linen White.) Then apply to the wood reindeer or decorative object of your choice by holding the can 10-12" from the reindeer and apply the spray paint in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Let dry and apply Chalked Ultra Matte Clear Topcoat, following the directions on the can.
- Display your newly painted holiday décor on your mantel or tabletop to add some festive sparkle to your home!
Tip: For best results apply a base coat of spray paint that’s a similar color as your glitter spray paint.
