Painted Kitchen Island Cart

+

A green kitchen island cart in the middle of a kitchen with white walls and navy blue cabinets.

Spray paint is a simple way to give your kitchen an updated look. We gave a kitchen island cart a new pop of color in just a few steps.

  1. Choose a well-ventilated work space and cover the floor with a drop cloth to protect it from overspray.
  2. Remove all of the hardware from the kitchen cart and use painter’s tape to cover any areas you don't want to paint.
  3. Shake your can of Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint (we used Satin Deep Forest) for 1 minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the can 10-16” away from the cart and apply the spray paint in a steady, back-and-forth motion. Apply 2-3 light coats of paint a few minutes apart.
  4. If you want to update your cart’s hardware, use Rust-Oleum Universal Metallic Spray Paint to give it a new color.
  5. Let the paint dry for 1 hour to the touch and completely for 24 hours before using the cart.

TIP: Use Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Primer in White and Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Clear Topcoat to give your kitchen island cart additional protection and longer-lasting color.
