This marble serving tray is both chic and affordable. Here’s how we made ours in just three simple steps.
PREPARE: Wipe the cabinet handles down with a tack cloth to remove any dust or dirt. Find a well-ventilated area to apply spray paint, and cover surrounding areas with a drop cloth to protect them from overspray.
PAINT: To paint the cabinet handles, first shake your can of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Metallic Spray Paint (we used Rose Gold) for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Then, hold the can upright 10-16" away from the cabinet handles and spray the handles in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart. Wait 10 minutes for the spray paint to dry to the touch, then flip the handles over and coat the opposite sides. Let the handles dry for up to 24 hours before attaching them to the marble.
ATTACH: Once the handles are dry, use maximum strength adhesive glue to attach them to the marble slab. Let the glue dry for at least 24 hours before using the tray.
TIP: Wash the marble tray in soapy water, not in the dishwasher.
