Are your shutters looking worn and faded? Use Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Satin Spray Paint to paint shutters with a fresh, modern color.
- Remove the shutters from your house, then lightly sand them with fine-grit sandpaper. Wipe off residue with a tack cloth.
- Following the instructions on the can, spray paint shutters with Bulls Eye 1-2-3 Primer with Turbo Spray System, then let them dry.
- Paint shutters with Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Satin Spray Paint in the color of your choice. (For our project, we used Coastal Gray.) Follow the instructions on the spray paint can. Shake the can for one minute after the mixing ball releases. Hold your can of spray paint 8-12" from the surface and apply light coats of spray paint, waiting a few minutes between each coat to ensure even coverage.
Tip: Old shower curtains make excellent drop cloths for large projects such as shutter painting.
