Update your patio by spray painting your chairs with Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Protective Enamel spray paint. In addition to an attractive new color, your patio chairs will get lasting protection against rust and corrosion.

PREPARE: Always work in a well-ventilated area and cover the surrounding area with a drop cloth. If you're painting outside, keep in mind that wind will easily carry spray paint, so avoid spraying on a windy day or near your car or house. Clean the patio chairs with soap and water and sand any areas where the existing paint is starting to chip or peel. Wipe any sanding dust away with a tack cloth.

PRIME: Shake your can of Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Universal Bonding Primer spray for 1 minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the can 10-16” from the chair and apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart.

PAINT: Next, shake your can of Stops Rust Protective Enamel spray paint (we used Light Turquoise) for 1 minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the paint can 10-16” from the chair and apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. 

FINISH: Let the paint dry for 24 hours before using the chairs.

To dress your chairs up even more, add a colorful outdoor seat cushion to each one. We recommend treating your seat cushions with Rust-Oleum Shield H2O Fabric Water Repelling Treatment to protect them from moisture. Place on your patio and enjoy!
