Water Tank Coating Proves Durable and Beautiful

A highly visible elevated water tank needed an extremely durable coating to withstand the salt air and other corrosive elements from the nearby coast. The 125-foot tower is a focal point for residents in the seaside town of Morehead City, North Carolina.

Rust-Oleum industrial coatings were the solution.

Crews applied Rust-Oleum 9100 System DTM Epoxy Mastic and 9800 System DTM Urethane Mastic to the carbon steel substrate which provided an excellent finish without lap marks. The town logo was then coated with Modern Masters ColorFast EX Urethane.

The project was covered 18,000 square feet and took two weeks to complete.
