Water-Based Wood Conditioner

Varathane Water-Based Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner prepares wood for water-based stain. It helps ensure that stain penetrates soft wood uniformly. This conditioner also prevents grain raise, blotching and streaking during staining, resulting in a beautiful wood stain finish on all types of wood. This water-based wood conditioner is for interior wood surfaces like furniture and trim. It should not be used on floors.

FOR BEST RESULTS

• Apply with a rag, foam brush or synthetic bristle brush.
• Do not allow Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner that has not penetrated the wood to dry on the wood surface.
• 20-30 minutes after application, lightly sand the surface with fine-grade sandpaper (#220) to smooth any raised grain before moving on to the next step.
• Complete your project with a clear, protective coat of Varathane Polyurethane.
