Welcome your next house-guests with a handmade sign that provides your wifi information and a greeting. Your guests will love the personal touch.

  1. Lightly sand the unfinished wood sign with fine grit sandpaper and wipe off residue with  tack cloth.
  2. With a lint-free cloth, generously apply Varathane Wood Stain and let it sit for 2-3 minutes, based on the richness of color you prefer.
  3. Wipe off excess stain with a clean, lint-free cloth.
  4. Let the wood stain dry for 1 hour.
  5. Tape off an area about 1-2 inches from each edge of the wood sign, leaving the center available for chalkboard spray paint.
  6. Follow the instructions on the spray paint can. Shake to mix, apply the Chalkboard spray paint in a slow, back-and-forth motion in light coats until covered and apply more than one coat as needed.
  7. Remove the painter's tape once the paint is dry.
  8. Let the Chalkboard paint dry for 20 minutes between coats and for 1 hour when the last coat has been applied. Paint is dry to handle in 1 hour.
  9. Once Chalkboard paint is dry, rub chalk over the surface and erase it to prepare it for writing.
TIP: If a second coat is needed, apply it within 1 hour or after 24 hours
