Drop cloth
A painted faucet and cabinet hardware are easy ways to give your bathroom a budget-friendly refresh.
- Before you begin, remove all hardware and place it on a drop cloth in a well-ventilated area. Cover the surrounding space with kraft paper, plastic or a drop cloth.
- Shake your can of Rust-Oleum Universal Matte Metallic Spray Paint (we used Gunmetal Gray) vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle.
- Hold the spray paint can upright 8-12” from surface of each item and apply it in a steady, back-and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the objects and in motion while in use.
- Apply two or more light coats of spray paint within an hour or wait 48 hours between coats.
- The paint will be dry to touch in 30 minutes, to handle in 1 hour, and fully dry in 24 hours.
- Wait until the spray paint is fully dry before reattaching your faucet and other hardware.
