BEFORE

Blogger Project – A coat of spray paint is an easy and affordable way to give a piece of furniture an entirely new look. See how Kirsten from The Bright Yellow Door transformed a plain wooden chair with the help of Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Spray Paint in Serenity Blue.

PREP: Remove the existing seat cushion and use sandpaper to scuff any glossy surfaces or smooth away any roughness. Shake your spray paint can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle.

APPLY: Over a drop cloth, hold the spray paint can upright, 10-12" from the surface, and spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart to build coverage.

DRY: Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Spray Paint dries to the touch in 20 minutes and is dry to handle in 1 hour. The chair may be recoated again in 1 hour or after 48 hours. The finish coat is fully dry in 24 hours.

ASSEMBLE: Affix new fabric over the seat cushion with a staple gun and reattach the seat.
