Succulents planted in two wine glasses with painted stems.

Before

Instead of buying a terrarium, use some spray paint and your own creativity to make a DIY succulent bowl.

  1. Wrap a plastic bag around the top of a wine glass and secure it with masking tape, leaving only the lower part of the glass stem exposed.
  2. Spray the exposed stem with Rust-Oleum® Stops Rust® MultiColor Textured spray paint.
  3. Once the paint has dried, add 3 tablespoons of potting soil and then 3 tablespoons of coarse river sand to the glass. Plant a succulent in the mix and give it a few drops of water.
  4. Add a heart or other decorative pieces to the stem.
  5. Display your unique succulent bowl or give it as a gift.
