PERSONALIZE

Painting flower pots is a great way to give them a custom look. We used Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint and a Testors Craft Paint Pen to give an ordinary terra cotta pot a celestial vibe.

  1. If needed, clean your terra cotta pots with Krud Kutter Original Cleaner and Degreaser and a lint-free cloth. Make sure pots are fully dry before painting.
  2. Working in a well-ventilated area, shake your can of Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover paint (we used Gloss Dark Gray) for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold your spray paint can 10-16” from the pot’s surface and spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke for best coverage. Apply light coats a few minutes apart, recoating within one hour or after 48 hours.
  3. Allow the painted terra cotta pot to fully dry before adding designs with a Testors Craft Enamel Paint Pen

Tip: Be sure to shake the paint pen and repeatedly press the tip firmly up and down on a piece of scrap paper to prime your pen before using.
