Blogger Project - Universal spray paint gives you the power to update existing hardware with a high-end look without the price tag associated with purchasing new fixtures.

Step 1: Before you start, lay down a drop cloth so paint doesn't get on anything else. Remove the light fixture from the wall. Be sure to turn the power off to the fixture before removing it. Consult an electrician with any questions before removing the fixture.

Step 2: Remove the bulbs and place them in a safe spot away from your painting area. Use painter’s tape to protect any part you don’t want to paint. It’s a great idea to protect the inside of the bulb sockets, along with any other wires with painter’s tape.

Step 3: You'll want to shake the can of spray paint for about one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle so the paint is well mixed.

Step 4: Hold can upright 10-12" from surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart.

Step 5: After your last coat of paint has been applied, let the light fixture dry completely before reinstalling it.
