Decorative Urns

+

Add some Halloween spirit to your home with a DIY decorative plastic urn. Follow these steps to transform basic urns into class Halloween décor.

  1. Use Universal Matte Metallic Gunmetal Gray spray paint to give basic urns a rich finish. Following the instructions on the spray paint can, shake for one minute after mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold 8-12” from the urn’s surface and spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart.
  2. To paint the pinecone accents and faux greenery, follow the instructions on the Painter’s Touch 2X Ultra Cover spray paint can. The colors we used here are Gloss Real Orange, Gloss Purple, and Semi-Gloss White. Shake the can for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold your can of spray paint 10 -16” from the surface and apply light coats of spray paint, in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke for even coverage, waiting a few minutes between each coat to ensure even coverage. Apply a second coat within one hour or after 48 hours.
  3. Once fully dried, arrange pinecones and faux greenery in the urn. Use hot glue for added sturdiness.
  4. Add your newly decorated urns to your porch as festive Halloween décor.
