These chalkboard ornaments are the perfect way to personalize your tree. Here’s how to make them in a few steps.

  1. PREPARE:  Always work in a well-ventilated area and cover your surroundings with a drop cloth to protect from overspray. Wipe down the mason jar lids with a tack cloth to remove any dirt and dust.
  2. PAINT:  Shake your can of Chalkboard Spray paint for one minute after the mixing ball starts to rattle. Holding the can 12-16” away from the flat part of the lid apply several light coats a few minutes apart until they’re thoroughly covered.
  3. FINISH:  Let the paint cure for at least 24 hours. Then, rub the side of a piece of chalk over the entire chalkboard surface on each lid. This will condition the chalkboard. Wipe away the chalk with a chalkboard eraser or dry cloth. To finish the ornaments glue the flat piece into the ring of the lid, decorate and enjoy!
