Approximately 1 hour
Your friends just moved into a new house. Surprise them with their favorite color on DIY housewarming gifts. Just a few coats of spray paint brings the look together.
PREP: Make sure all kitchen items are clean and thoroughly dry. Always spray in a well-ventilated area such as a garage. Cover area with a drop cloth to protect surfaces from overspray. Apply painter's tape to any areas you don't want to paint.
PAINT: Shake the can of Universal Metallic for one minute after you hear the mixing ball begin to rattle. Hold can upright 8-12” from surface and spray in a steady back-and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart. For best results, apply several light coats versus one heavy coat. Recoat within 1 hour or after 48 hours.
DRY: The spray paint will be dry to touch in 30 minutes, to handle in 1 hour, and is fully dry in 24 hours.
For the wooden cutting board: Once the paint is fully dry, attach a tack or glue a clip to the surface to use it as a recipe holder.
TIP: Food should not be in direct contact with the painted surface.
