Your friends just moved into a new house. Surprise them with their favorite color on DIY housewarming gifts. Just a few coats of spray paint brings the look together.

PREP: Make sure all kitchen items are clean and thoroughly dry. Always spray in a well-ventilated area such as a garage. Cover area with a drop cloth to protect surfaces from overspray. Apply painter's tape to any areas you don't want to paint.

Shake the can of Universal Metallic for one minute after you hear the mixing ball begin to rattle. Hold can upright 8-12” from surface and spray in a steady back-and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface and in motion while spraying. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart. For best results, apply several light coats versus one heavy coat. Recoat within 1 hour or after 48 hours.

DRY: The spray paint will be dry to touch in 30 minutes, to handle in 1 hour, and is fully dry in 24 hours.

For the wooden cutting board: Once the paint is fully dry, attach a tack or glue a clip to the surface to use it as a recipe holder.

TIP: Food should not be in direct contact with the painted surface.
