BLOGGER PROJECT – Give your laundry room a budget friendly facelift for less than $400 using the power of paint. Completely transform your cabinets, countertops and floors without sanding, stripping or priming.

  1. Make sure the cabinets, countertops and floors are clean and dry. Apply painter’s tape along the border edges and anywhere you don’t want paint.

  2. For the cabinets, follow the directions in the Rust-Oleum Cabinet Transformations Kit. No stripping, sanding or priming is required. Start by removing the cabinet doors. Clean and degloss the cabinets and door fronts. Next, apply the Bond Coat. Let dry 2-3 hours and apply a second coat. Allow to dry for an additional 2-3 hours. Apply the optional decorative glaze before applying the Top Coat. Allow to dry 8 hours. Lastly, apply the Protective Top Coat. Allow to dry for 12 hours.

  3. For the countertops, follow the directions on the Specialty Countertop Coating label. Lightly sand glossy surfaces. Two thin coats are recommended. The coating may be recoated in 1 hour or within 24 hours. Allow the surface to cure 3 days before use.

  4. For the floors, follow the directions on the Rust-Oleum HOME Floor Coating Base Coat and Top Coat labels. Apply the base coat in 4’x4’ sections. Do not let the product puddle. Wait 6 hours for the floor to dry. For the design above, use either a stencil or bucket to trace circles on each tile. Paint over your trace marks with the second Base Coat color. Wait 1-2 hours for the floor to dry. Once dry, apply the Rust-Oleum HOME Floor Coating Top Coat. Allow 24 hours for light foot traffic and 72 hours before placing furniture on the surface. Full cure is 7 days.
