There are tons of reasons why Mason jar decorations are such a popular choice among DIYers--affordability and versatility being just a couple. Here's an easy way to create extra sparkly Mason jar centerpieces for your next wedding, shower or party.

  1. PREPARE: Always work in a well ventilated area and cover nearby items with a drop cloth to protect them from overspray. Clean each Mason jar thoroughly with glass cleaner and a lint free cloth.
  2. PAINT: Shake your can of Stops Rust Protective Enamel spray paint in Flat Black for 1 minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the can 10-16” from the surface of the Mason jar and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply 1-2 light coats a few minutes apart. Allow the paint to dry for approximately 2-4 hours. Once the paint is dry, tape off the bottom half of your jar with painter’s tape and paper. Shake your can of Glitter spray paint, hold it 12-14” from the Mason jar, and spray in a steady back-and forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply 2 or more light coats a few minutes apart. Repeat these steps on the other jars, varying your ratios of black paint to glitter.
  3. FINISH: Allow the Mason jars to dry for about 24 hours.

To assemble your centerpieces, fill the jars with flowers, cutlery, or candies. Display and admire! For another fun DIY party decoration, check out this gold Mailbox Card Holder.
