Paint pumpkins and gourds in ombre, fun shapes and stripes … or whatever you choose! Rust-Oleum makes it easy with the perfect paint colors for fall. Match them to your décor, or create a new, festive vibe. 

Make sure your gourds are clean and thoroughly dry.

Ombre Effect: Using Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Cover Spray Paint, start with the lightest color you want to see on top. Following the directions on the spray paint can, apply the paint as high up on the gourd as you'd like. Then, apply a darker color on top of that, beginning at the bottom and gradually lessening the amount of paint you apply as you go up. If desired, add a third color to the lower part of the pumpkin, using the same approach.

Chalked: Apply Rust-Oleum Chalked Spray Paint over the entire gourd or a portion of the gourd with a paint brush in an even coat and let it dry for 1 hour. For full cure, let the paint dry for 24 hours.

Stripes and Shapes: Use painter’s tape to mark off sections of your pumpkin or cut shapes from a sheet of vinyl and apply them to the pumpkin. Add spray paint, following the directions on the can. While the paint is still slightly wet, remove the painter’s tape and let the gourd dry for 1 hour before handling, and 24 hours for full cure.
