Lost Socks Sign

+

Put the fun in functional with this stenciled Lost Socks sign that accompanies a basket for mismatched socks.

  1. Stir your can of Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Paint (we used Aged Gray) thoroughly to ensure any unsettled pigment is mixed in. With a high-quality synthetic paint brush, use light, even brush strokes to ensure even flow and the smoothest finish on the wood sign. Let the first coat of paint dry for at least 30 minutes before applying a second coat.
  2. Let the paint dry for 2-4 hours before using painter’s tape to attach your stencil to painted surface. Stir your second color of Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Paint (we used Charcoal) thoroughly to ensure any unsettled pigment is mixed in. Apply the chalked paint over the stenciled area. Remove the stencil once the paint is dry to touch.
  3. To paint the basket, follow the instructions on the can of Rust-Oleum Universal Spray Paint (we used Gunmetal Gray). Shake the can for 60 seconds after mixing ball begins to rattle. Hold the spray paint can 8-12” from the surface and spray in a steady, back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart.
  4. Once the paint is dry, attach the basket to the sign and hang it in your laundry room.
